What am I listening to this week?

I know tastes may differ... but if you're here... then you must have some similar tastes in music...?

Let me know who YOU are listening to... please E-Mail me at davie.damnation@zetnet.co.uk and tell me what you like!

Queensryche - Greatest Hits

I saw Queensryche on stage at the Monsters of Rock festival in June and was pretty impressed; I especially liked the way that they appeared to link the songs through a story. Yes, I know Queensryche have been around for a million years... but apart from the occassional tracks on compilation albums I'd never really heard of them.

So when I was in the local HMV store and saw this album on sale for 5 - I thought I'd give it a try. I've been listening to it since! Worth a listen - especially if you're in to Progressive Rock!

Pandora's Box - It's All Coming Back to me Now.

I know it's not in the charts... Yes it's an Old Track! But forget the Celine Dion version and however high Meat Loaf's version might get in the charts... this original 1989 Jim Steinman version will ALWAYS be the best! Released in various guises, including the 3" CD Single pictured, the 8 minutes and 22 seconds of pure genious sounds as good today as it did when it first came out - Elaine Caswell's vocals are superb and this song should have done a lot better in its own right! But don't just listen to the 'single track' itself... listen to the WHOLE song. With 'Requiem Metal', 'I've been Dreaming up a Storm Lately' and the 'Pray Lewd' finale; this makes over 15-minutes of Jim Steinman pure listening pleasure!

Superb - dig it out, listen and make your own mind up!

Box of Frogs - Back Where I started.

Ah-hah - Ah-hah! Who can remember 'Box of Frogs'? The name deserves recognition alone! The year was 1984 and this excellent blues track was released; to this date it still finds itself rotating on my record deck on regular occassions! Great for chilling out to!

If you haven't got it... you don't know what you're missing!

Get those feet tapping! :-)
