Judie Tzuke

Judie Tzuke - Press Cuttings.

The following article was published in the PETERBOROUGH EVENING TELEGRAPH on the 22nd June 1979.

Judie Tzuke has an almost unpronounceable name but an enormous talent which is already earning her comparisons with such unlikely musical stable mates as Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush. Certainly the album 'Welcome To The Cruise' is deliciously off-beat, colourful and adventurous. Judie's voice is fine and clear, but with a steely edge that she isn't afraid to use to emphasise the rock content of the title song. 'For You' is an excellent example of modern recording technique using overdubs to allow Judie to duet, unaccompanied, with herself before a surging classical baroque break by massed cellos. One of many contracts is the rather Fleetwood Mac-ish 'These Are The laws' which shows that Ms Tzuke has a feeling for de blues. It is a safe bet that before long Judie will be adding to the millions of Rocket boss Elton John.
