Out to lunch
SEEN HERE doing their bit to close up the age gap are Noddy Holder, Judy Tsuke, Kim Wilde and Toyah, all happily posing with Andy Williams at last weeks lunchtime bash in aid of the Music Therapy charity.
Nobody actually knows what music therapy is, of course, but it attracted a lot of other people including Christopher Biggins, Mary Stavin, Bob Geldof, B A Robertson, Garth Crooks, Hazel O'Conner, Captain Sensible, Gary Crowley, Erroll Brown, Mike Batt, Nicky Horne and Mike Rutherford, and made a lot of money (over £40,000) for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre because a lot of people who won things in the raffle kept giving them back to be auctioned.
This years Silver Clef Award for Services To The Music Industry was won by Queen, all of whom except Freddy were there to collect it from Jimmy Saville and Bill Wyman. Previous winners have included The Who, The Shadows, Genesis, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Status Quo, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton, so jaws' guess is that the main technique of music therapy probably involves a lot of people patting each other on the back and then boring everyone else half to death.
Our personnal congratulations, however, go to the Daily Mirror's Robin Eggar who accepted Bill Wyman's £100 challenge to pour drink over sun writer John Blake's head, thus providing what must surely have been the main entertainment of the day.
