Fergie's not Judie's kind of mum
Quite a Iot's happened to rock star Judie
Tzuke since her first smash Stay With Me Till Dawn hit the charts 10 years ago. She's fallen in love with record producer Paul Muggleton, they've set up home together - complete with recording studio at the bottom of the garden! - and they've collaborated on another joint production, baby Bailey, age two!
"My daughter's changed my life!" says the proud mum. "I feet a lot more confident now, and a lot less vain. Having Bailey around
means so much more than just worrying about a spotty complexion..."
Judie was once painfully shy. "If I saw a photograph of myself, or heard my speaking voice on tape, I'd hate it. The only thing I had faith in was my ability to sing," she confesses.
"I was very nervous making the video for my single We'll Go Dreaming. I hope it doesn't show but there's one shot which makes me look like Kylie Minogue for grown-ups!"
The single's about dreaming, so we asked
Judie what she dreams about. "I dream about going on tour, about Baiiey, and motherhood. My baby's so important to me. She loves music, and she'll probably grow up thinking that all babies have a music factory at the end of the garden!
"I devoted Bailey's first year to being a fulf-time mother. I can't understand how Fergie could zoom off to Austratia so soon after baby Bea's birth - I couldn't have been dragged away. Now I make an effort to combine
music and
motherhood, but my child won't be neglected."
She's back in a big way with her album Tuming Stones. "I'm only 32," she says, "but because I've been around so long people treat me like I'm past it. I'm the same sort of age as Kim Wilde and Annie Lennox, but I doubt if people make them feel old!"
As for the future, marriage to Paul is out for the moment. "We don't feel marriage is necessary. After all this time it would just seem silly..."
