THAT'S LIFE! The Esther Rantzen of rock, Judy 'The Last Time I Saw Teeth Like That Lester Piggott Was Sat Behind 'Em' Tzuke has returned from her desert island, having spent 12 months on her tod with only a crate of Colgate and the greatest hits of Hall And Oates to keep her occupied.
The woman with the dancing dentures shows clear traces of Dep Mode electro and Annie Lennox intonation, and though I'm fully aware I'm not meant to say this, she's produced a quite respectable album. One or two tracks are almost, well, trendy. So be warned next time you hear a new record at your favourite nightspot, and don't enquire too loudly as to the identity of the performer - it might just be the dreaded Tzuke.
Footnote: 'The Cat Is Out' was recorded at The Boiler Room. No comment.
